This study is carried out for a boat with a 10,000 litre fuel tank, which corresponds to an average recreational boating boat. It is for this boat that we have calculated the retail price of a machine to clean and disinfect the fuel tank at € 5,000.
The total fleet of yachts and ferries in the world is about 28,000,000 ships, plus 115,000 freighters, which we could make an equivalence for practical purposes, since each freighter is 10 recreational freighters; therefore, we have 115,000 * 10 = 1,150,000 ships; which added to the 28,000,000 recreational vessels, we would have a total of 29,150,000 vessels.
If the patent were to be installed on 15% of these ships, we would be talking about 4,372,500 ships.
Each machine installed on a ship with a 10,000 litre tank would cost €5,000. If the machine were installed on 4,372,500 ships, we would have a total revenue of €21.86 billion, which, pro rata over 15 years, amounts to €1.457 billion per year.
To this must be added the turnover generated by the maintenance of these machines, which would be €1,500 * 4,372,500 ships = €6,558 million, which, prorated over 15 years, amounts to €437 million per year.
